4 Cars Perfect For Travelling This Festive Season

We all know that the state of some of our Nigerian roads are best left to the imagination. If you’ve got a low car such as a saloon, you can attest to the fact that the pot-hole riddled, untarred and uneven roads are not your friend! Here is a list of four cars that would be perfect for most of these road conditions such as traveling out of town to your villages this Christmas.

Jeep Grand Cherokee

This complete family car combines off-road prowess with excellent drivability and comfort. It comes in two Powertrain options – the V6 and V8, but with three engine options, the 3.6 litre V6 which is 295 horsepower, then there is a 5.7 litre V8 which brings out 360 horsepower. Finally the most efficient being the 3.0 litre V6 turbodiesel.

Land Rover Range Rover

At first, second and even third glance, the Range Rover does not look like a car built for off-road purposes. But, this car has great off-road capabilities. The Range Rover comes packed with long travel air suspension and computer controlled terrain response which makes it perfect to overcome any challenge the road may throw at it. It can provide foot of ground clearance by raising up on its springs.

Toyota Land Cruiser

The Toyota Land Cruiser is synonymous with off-road driving. It is a whooping 5.7 litre, 381 horsepower V8 vehicle. The system of the Land Cruiser is based on Toyota’s Kinetic Dynamic Suspension that allows for more suspension in slow speed road conditions.

Nissan Xterra Pro-4x

The Pro 4X was built deliberately for off road conditions and can crawl up rocky and bumpy roads without fear of body damage. It comes with a locking rear differential, hill descent control as well as hill assist to you do not slide backwards.

If you have one of these four cars, then youre good to go, there are still other off road cars to mention like the g63amg etc but lets do this 4 for today.

If you drive a saloon car, you can still go visit your loved ones in the village, but just be extra careful and don't over speed.

  1. Lovely article that focuses on power and off-road capabilities.I would rather travel in a diesel powered automobile (SUV or sedan), than stop for fuel often because these are fuel-guzzlers. Although, I must confess, that Landcrusier overtook me while I was in a Benz doing 201kmph along Benin-Ore expressway. Jezzuz!!
